Blues singer, guitarist and songwriter.

Walter Trout began his career in the late 60s in New Jersey, moving to Los Angeles in 1974, where he played as a session musician for Persy Mayfield and Deacon Jones.

Later on, he was member of the bands that accompanied giants such as John Lee Hooker and Joe Tex.

In 1981, he joined the band Canned Heat, remaining with them until 1985, when he joined John Mayall’s Bluebreakers.

In 1990, Thomas Helweg, danish concert promoter, suggested him to form his own band and touring in Europe and thus was born the Walter Trout Band, releasing their first album “Life In The Jungle” which would be renamed Walter Trout & The Radicals.

The album ” Luther’s Blues” (2013), was nominated for the Blues Music Awards in the category of “Best Blues Rock Album of the Year”.

In 2014, Walker made it public that he suffers from hepatitis C. A liver transplant was needed for his life, and with the help of donations from his fans, the operation was performed in 2015. Once he recovered, that same year and during his convalescence, he released “Battle Scars”.

“We’ re All In This Together” is released in 2017. Releasing an album with the collaboration of legends and artists such as John Mayall, Charlie Musselwhite, Edgar Winter, Warren Haynes, Joe Louis Walker, Randy Bachman, Mike Zito, Erc Gales, Sonny Landreth, Joe Bonamasa and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, among others, is proof of Walter’s relevance in the world of the blues.

In 2019, he releases “Survivor Blues”, an album that shows Walter’s genius and understanding of the genre, interpreting and shaping classic blues tunes in his own way. The album charted at number 1 on the Billboard Blues Chart, garnering high recognition and was nominated for a Blues Music Award. “It’s not just surviving, it’s thriving,” Clasic Rock wrote about this release, crowning it the best blues album of 2019.

With over 40 years of musical career, Trout has released an extensive back catalogue (27 albums), leaving a profound legacy in the world of blues, blues-rock and Americana music as well as more revered singers, guitarists and songwriters.

Walter Trout might be considered the world’s greatest blues-rock guitarist still active today.
