THE DALTONICS

THE DALTONICS
Bilbao, 2.015
The Daltonics are a garage rock band formed in 2015 in Bilbao.
The band was born when Dani Oñate (drums), Egoitz Artaraz and Pablo Badiola (guitars), who were part of the cover band called Melt!, met. Álex joined them on vocals and harmonica after years of collaborating in different bands: Telegrama Sam, Maybe Love, Zimmerband and other blues bands. Natxo Abad on bass, with his punk past behind him, was the latest addition to the band after the death of their first bass player Jesús Artetxe.
From this mix came this noisy, punkish project of irreverent garage rock, looking for a fresh sound somewhere between garage and pub-rock, with Spanish lyrics with an ironic touch.
Their influences range from garage classics like Sonics, Fuzztones, etc. to pub-rock references like Dr. Feelgood (who they opened for in 2019 at the Kafe Antzokia in Bilbao), to groups that sing in Spanish such as Siniestro Total, Los Enemigos, etc. Their songs are about them, their lives and experiences: “old people who feel young” and want to have a good time and enjoy themselves.
In 2020 they were awarded the Koska prize for the best live performance in Bizkaia. They have released 3 albums. Their latest album was released in May 2022.
